From preferring Animal Planet over cartoons as a child to helping turtles safely cross the road, Katherine Baird has always had a great love for the outdoors. She has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Toronto, with majors in Environmental Biology and Animal Physiology, and an additional minor in Environmental Chemistry. At EcoSpark, Katherine is involved with the Changing Currents stream monitoring program primarily. She also finds herself exploring the terrestrial environmental as a volunteer with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s (TRCA) Terrestrial Monitoring Program, surveying terrestrial plant, animal and lichen indicator species. Katherine also volunteers with the Toronto Wildlife Centre (TWC) Wildlife Care program, rehabilitating sick, injured or orphaned wildlife.
